Seattle Locations and Landmarks
The setting for your RP can be a character unto itself. Consider these as possible locations for your RPs to take place and to enhance your overall immersion for Ascended Wrestling.
Seattle Waterfront
Seattle’s Waterfront is home to a number of attractions including cafes, restaurants, shops, and the Seattle Aquarium.
With a focus on conservation and education, the Seattle aquarium is home to exhibits for fresh and saltwater sea life and an aviary for waterfowl rehabilitation.
Ever heard the term, ‘Skid Row’? This is where that phrase originated during Seattle’s early days as a logging town. Located in the southwest corner of downtown Seattle, Pioneer Square features art galleries, restaurants, and nightclubs.
The original Seattle was built on a foundation of organic filler, which caused the city to sink as it compacted and degraded over time. After the Great Fire of 1899, the street was regraded and new buildings were built over the old structures. This underground portion of the city is still accessible in places, existing as a series of subterranean passages and basements.
Composed of three different neighborhoods, Chinatown, Japantown, and Little Saigon, this is the heart of Seattle’s Asian community. There are a number of shops, community centers, and grocery stores that feature Asian foods and goods such as the Uwajimaya.
Formerly SafeCo Field, T-Mobile Park is a retractable roof stadium located in the SoDo district and home to the Seattle Mariners.
Opened in 1907, Pike Place Market is one of the longest continuously running farmer’s markets in the United States. There are numerous booths with all manner of merchandise ranging from bouquets of flowers, hand-made jewelry, leather work, fresh produce, and, of course, an abundance of seafood; some of which is occasionally airborne. The second floor down also offers a number of stores such as Golden Age Collectibles, which sells comics and geeky collectibles of every variety, Market Magic & Novelty Shop, an offbeat store that sells magic supplies and memorabilia, or Old Seattle Paperworks, which sells reprints of vintage advertisements and magazines.
...Yeah. This exists right by the Market. It’s as gross as you think it is.
Commonly referred to as the ‘SAM,’ the Seattle Art Museum has permanent and rotating exhibits for both classical and contemporary art.
This performance hall is home to the Seattle Symphony Orchestra.
An association of Seattle theatres; the Paramount, the Neptune, and the Moore.
This venue is host to conventions of all sorts, and if you’re a nerd in Seattle, this is the nucleus of con season. Some of the most prolific conventions are: PAX West, Emerald City Comic Con, and Sakura-Con.
This massive, multi-story arcade located near the Washington State Convention Center features a full bar and restaurant.
A major arts, entertainment, and tourism center of the city. Go here to find the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop), Chihuly Garden and Glass, Climate Pledge Arena (formerly Key Arena), and the Seattle Children’s Museum.
Chihuly Garden and Glass
Located on the north shore of Lake Union, this public park was a former gasification plant for the Seattle Gas Light Company.
